The Alberta Court of Appeal recently released the decision, Lenz v. Sculptoreanu, 2016 ABCA 111. The appellate court per curiam holds that an Emergency Protection Order under the Protection Against Family Violence Act is not available to all persons in an intimate relationship if they do not or have not resided together and their relationship does not amount to an adult interdependent relationship.
