Mincher Koeman Family Law Chambers Welcomes Daniel Wilson

Lynsey and Andrew would like to welcome Daniel Wilson to the Mincher Koeman family. Daniel joined Mincher Koeman in January 2018.

Daniel was called to the Bar in 2015 and practices exclusively in the areas of family law and related civil litigation. As a lawyer, his primary objective is to obtain certainty and resolution for his clients at minimal expense, typically through a negotiated settlement. When this is not possible, he is an effective advocate in the courtroom. In particular, he has enjoyed numerous successes in trials in both the Court of Queen’s Bench and Provincial Court of Alberta on parenting, mobility, and spousal support disputes.

Daniel joined Mincher Koeman LLP in early 2018 after practicing at an established family law firm in Calgary with a focus on litigation. Before starting his career in family law, he practiced at a civil litigation boutique where he appeared as junior counsel at complex trials involving shareholder oppression, professional negligence, and commercial lease actions. He continues to rely on this experience in order to represent clients at trial effectively and confidently.

A born-and-raised Calgarian, Daniel completed his first year of law school at the University of Hong Kong before graduating from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. While at Queen’s, he made the Dean’s Honour List in his final year and was chosen as one of four students to represent his faculty at the Gale Cup–a national mooting competition where law students prepare and argue a simulated appeal on criminal and constitutional law issues. He was also selected to participate in both the Queen’s Business Law and Legal Aid clinics, where he assisted low-income Kingston residents with business and corporate matters and represented them before the Ontario Court of Justice and Social Benefits Tribunal.
